Cassie is a Calgary AB, Canada based theatre Technician.
She earned her Technical Theatre Diploma from Vancouver Island University where she started her Stage Management and Properties career and received the Carl Opgaard Scholarship.
She continued her education at the University of Nevada Las Vegas (UNLV) where she built her Audio Visual Skills on two Nevada Conservatory Theatre (NCT) Productions and on a show for Clowntown with Wynn. She gained experience leading the Sound Design in A Christmas Carol and assisted with Sound Design Artist work with the NCT ensuring their vision came to life. She was also a full time Carpenter working on over 16 productions for the NCT. Her proudest achievement at NCT was being the first Undergraduate to be paid in a Graduate position as Prop Master for Bomb-Itty of Errors, where she discovered her love for prop work. While attending UNLV she received the Joe Aldridge Award for Technical Theatre Production. Cassie finished her career at UNLV with a Degree in Theatre Production and Design and a Minor in Anthropology.
She continued her career post graduation as Stage Crew for Princess Cruises where she worked on the award winning Fantastic Journey. During her time there she honed many skills in AV, prop repair, show track development including on the fly problem solving and Automation. She finished her time with Princess by being a part of the Commissioning team of Sky Princess installing three new shows for Princess Cruises.
Cassie currently works for Tedgroup as Stage Manager/Automation Engineer on Marella cruises ships. The position fulfills Cassie’s creative props and Automation training while being in charge of the Broadway Show Lounge. Every day is a new set of problems waiting to be solved when on a cruise ship.
She loves traveling the world presenting innovative shows to people on a nightly basis and continues to build her Prop and Automative skills on the side. She up-cycles furniture when she can to test new techniques to try on props. In her spare time you will also find her hiking and exploring new places around the globe experiencing the many forms of theatre and live entertainment.
